The Parking Situation at the Shybary Grand |
| Developer Barry Shy Privately Owns Shybary Grand's In-Building Parking Garage It could be argued to be in the best interests of homeowners if their HOA owned the parking garage that came with the loft building they purchased into. Ideally they would pay for the upkeep and maintenance of the garage with their monthly HOA dues and be guaranteed the ability to park in the building where they own a loft. Unfortunately for at least one homeowner at the Shybary Grand, the developer did not set up the building that way. Parking is a separate charge. It has nothing to do with the HOA, and it is a privilege that can be taken away from any homeowner at any time (with one month's notice) by the developer's company. Does it make sense that a homeowner who has purchased a loft at the Shybary Grand has been asked to pay $1650 to begin leasing a spot in the building, when the ability to park in the building can be cancelled at any time (with one month's notice)? This Parking Agreement is believed newly created around June 30, 2008. When asked, the management company could not produce a parking agreement prior to this date even though the parking garage has been open for at least two and a half years. Read one homeowner's unanswered letter to the Shybary Grand dated 6/20/08. Suggested plan of action to Barry Shy which could result in an improved public reputation:
